I'm currently sat on the sofa, watching Meet The Parents, wine glass in hand, after indulging in some cheese and biscuits and chocolate and I just had a very overwhelming urge to type up a quick blogpost.

I know I am the worlds worst blogger and I mention this in every post but I do love looking back and reading these posts weeks/months/years later!

I would like to say I will make more of an effort to post here next year but I'm pretty sure that won't happen. I have no idea why! I get right into it for a week or two and then it just dies off and I don't write another post for about 6 months! Even if I don't keep up the blog next year I would quite like to start keeping a diary again at least.

In a way I'm kinda glad I didn't really document 2016 anywhere as it's not really been the best of years unfortuantely. I do, however, have higher hopes for 2017 though, I think we're due a good year after this one!

I never really make new years resolutions as I'm not really one to stick to anything (this blog is a good example!) but I do have some goals and things I would like to achieve next year. I know it's probably a bit early to be coming up with these as it is still only november but hey:

- Get into more of a routine
- Incorporate more exercise into said routine!
- Crack some tough yoga moves e.g crow pose, the splits, forearm stands
- Document my days more e.g the blog, diary, take more photos/videos
- Save up some money and get rid of my student overdraft!

So, that's what I'm hoping to achieve, keep your fingers crossed for me! I suppose I'll stop mindlessly rambling away as I could type for hours, however, I may or may not see you again soon!

P.S the dates on this Meet The Parents show are sooo cringey! So awkward to watch!

This week has been manic at work  which has really taken it out of me. It's literally been one thing after the other and I've not had a week like this in a very long time! Because of this I stopped keeping up with my pilates and yoga routine and I totally stopped eating healthy. This is what happened when I get stressed! I even saw off a bottle of wine and a couple of cocktails on Saturday night because it was much needed!

But, it's Sunday now and tomorrow is the start of a new week so I'm gona try and get myself back on track. Paul is doing night shifts at the moment so this eveningI'm going to make a hearty Sunday tea for us then when he goes to work I'm going to stop adulting all together and spend the night playing The Sims 4 which has become my most recent guilty pleasure!

I hope your week was a little more fun filled and exciting that mine was ! Happy Sunday!

Today I made a new instagram for OOTD posts and I'm going to try and post everday on it. If you want to follow me on it it is @alisonjessicaapparel !

Today was a work day therefore very smart and sophisticated! i love this outfit because although it looks really smart its actually really comfortable and simple.

I had such a busy day today from start to finish I'm so glad its time for me to put my feet up and chill. This evening me and Paul are indulging in a takeaway since we are feeling a little bit sorry for ourselves and I am going to to a bit of tidying up and play the sims! I'm off work tomorrow so me and my sister are taking a trip to the cinemas to see Absolutley Fabulous. I'm really excited because I grew up watching that show and I have such high hopes for the film! I will be sure to let you know my thoughts afterwards!

One week down being healthy and I've been pleasantly surprised! All week I've being doing my best to eat healthily and cook proper meals rather than running into Tesco on an evening for a Rustlers burger (guilty pleasure!). I got stuck in to making homemade pizza, homemade meatballs and pasta, plenty of porridge with honey and chicken and avocado wraps! I've stuck to my first full week and I'm very proud of myself! I did treat myself to a bit of chocolate and wine on Friday and Saturday night but we're allowed a little treat on a weekend!

This week me and my sister actually went back to Alton Towers, I know, twice in one month?! We were desperate to try out The Smiler since we didn't get on it last time and really wanted to go whilst the schools were back so the park would be really quiet. It was so much better and we even managed to get on everything twice as we never had to queue! Last trip for a while I bank balance does not appreciate it as much as I do!

I've also been binge watching Greys Anatomy this week. My friend at work started watching it a little while ago and urged me to give it a go too. I'm nearly up to season 4 now (not all in one week by the way!) and its so addictive! It's the perfect mix of a serious drama and comedy to lighten it up a tad as it can be quite dark at times.  I know its probably not 100% medically correct however I do also find it really quite interesting! I could never work in the medical field mind you, I'm far too squeamish and those long hours would kill me!

For my birthday this year I asked Paul for a FitBit since I'm really trying to change my lifestyle for the better. It came the other day and he was a softie and let me have it now even though it isn't my birthday til the end of the month. I've been using it since Thursday and I love it so far! I'll do a proper review after I have used it a little longer but it is definitely helping to keep me motivated and fun to use!

My plan for the rest of my Sunday evening now is to have a nice, long hot shower and a pamper and cuddle up on the sofa with my pooch to watch some rubbish TV or yet more Greys Anatomy! Hope you've had a lovely weekend and happy fathers day!

This was my actual food shop for this week, can I just point out that my weekly food shop has not included this much fruit and veg for a long time (other than guinea pig food...). I'm finally determined to get off my bum and try and get back in shape again!

Last year I was probably the fittest I had ever been as I was a student and only working part time therefore I had an awful lot of spare time to fit in exercisng. I must admit, my diet wasn't great but I got away with it as I worked out for at least 30 minutes, 5-7 times a week!

Ever since beginning to work full time at a desk job I have just completly fallen out of routine. I stopped exercising at all for months on end. I could not be bothered to cook proper meals any more due to getting home later and being more tired therefore the amount of ready meals and takeaways increased! That really took its toll and now I'm the heaviest I've ever been. I'm by no means overweight hwoever, I am just uncomfortable in my skin and I want to feel good and healthy like I did a year ago!

It is my plan to revamp my eating habits. I aim to crack down on my portion control and quit chocolate/sweets through the week and reward myself on a Sunday with a rest day and a cheat meal. I am going to alternate between HIIT training and yoga and I'm even getting a FitBit from Paul from my birthday!

It's only Wednesday night but I have stuck to this pretty well and I havent lost any motivation...yet..! I even took Paul to Tesco last night to pick up a pizza and which I even cooked for him whilst I ate a baked potato, if that is not willpowever I don't know what is!

So, wish me luck. I'll try and stick to this one this time and check in now and again here with how I'm progressing!

I attempted some nail art last night, if you can even call it that.

I'm not one to mess about with my nails as I just don't have the steady hands to do so however, I was tidying up my dressing table and noticed the Ciate glitters I have from last years advent calendar which I still have not used! I was aiming to do a summery green grass and sunshine nail but in fact it looks more like Christmas...oh well! I also intended on doing more of an ombre glitter with it being more intense at the tip then reducing down, however, due to my aforementioned unsteady hands, this was near enough impossible and I ended up spilling the glitter everywhere.

Safe to say, I ain't no nail artist, but at least I tried ey?

The other day me and my sister went to Alton Towers. We planned it last month and we have been ready to burst with excitement ever since. I've got no idea as to why I was so excited as I have always been terrified of fast rides and I've never been before, however for some reason I was haha!

Turns out, it was actually the best day ever. The first ride we went on was Galactica and I won't lie, it made me feel really sick (probably motion sickness from the VR) and I hated 99% of it. We then went straight on Nemesis before I had the chance to think about it and it was the most fun I have ever had. I think I have definitely been cured of my rollercoaster fear and we are already planning on going again as unfortunaely we did not have time to go on The Smiler as we ended up getting stuck on the cable cars for half an hour...

I would wholly recommend this for a day out as I loved every second, despite being a huge wimp! There was so much to do alongside the rides such as visiting Alton Towers themselves as well as the Sharkbait Reef Aquarium! Unfortunately, I did not get many photos as I was having too much fun to think about getting my camera out but we will most definitely be going again before the end of the year.

What's your favourite ride at Alton Towers?!

Yes, that is the sea in the very very very far distance...

Chocolate and caramel ice cream!Oh my god!
Yesterday was a sorcher! I woke up and the whole flat was already warm so I could'nt resist getting out and about whilst I still can during my week off work. The bf had had quite a bad nights sleep so he was having a lie in so I messaged my sister to see if she was up for a last minute beach trip, and of course she was! My usual beach choice in the North West is Blackpool, simply because I know my way around there the most. However, we thought we may as well try a different part of the coast and set off to Southport.

The whole day was in the mid twenties and was so warm, definintely not something I'm used to! Unfortunately the tide was really far out, and I mean several miles(!) so we didn't get to have a paddle but we did have a lovely walk up and down the pier. After a mooch around the seaside, the shops, fish and chips for lunch and a double scoop icecream for pudding we were done in! I do love a good last minute trip out, especially when the weather is so nice as it seems so rare these days! I've been very lucky for my week off work to have such nice weather though it looks like it's going downhill from now!

In the car home I could feel and see my skin starting to burn and by the time I got home I resembled a lobster! I never burn, nor do I tan therfore I don't even own suncream. Totally my own fault and I've most definitely learned next time I'm at the coast this summer!

What are your favourite summer days out?

So, it's been 7 months since I last checked in here! No surprises there, I'm terrible at keeping up with this, I know! Every time I come back and write a post I always say the same thing, that this time I'm back for good! However, this time I'm not going to make any promises as I'm sure you can already tell, I'm hopeless at sticking to them!

It's seems today that I just got bitten by the blogging bug again. I've had a really lazy Sunday filled with YouTube videos, adult colouring books, dog walks and cooking and cleaning. A pretty standard Sunday for me these days! As I was watching Youtube I was reminded of my own little space of the Internet and came back and read some of my old posts and I missed it! I feel like it's such a good way of keeping creative and not just spending an entire day off in my own little lazy world. Don't get me wrong, I love a good lazy day off work, but sometimes I get a bit restless and don't know what to do to fill the time, well, how about blogging ey?

So today I am back. No idea for how long, but we'll see. I'm working full time now and since I last checked in with you I'm now the mother to a little puppy called Pudge so I am pretty busy. However, I would quite like to see how often I can try and fit this into my lifestyle again because I really enjoyed looking back and reading my old posts this morning.

As I am sure you can imagine, a lot has changed yet again since my last posts. As I just mentioned, me and Paul now have a puppy! We got her at 9 weeks old and now she is 8 months and she is the best little devil doggy ever. More about her in another post perhaps!

As well as getting a little puppy dog I have been settling into my new job and making all new friends which has been fun and exciting. I also upgraded my little old Micra to a brand new 2016 Citroen C1. We are now aiming to save up all of the pennies we can so we can move into a house with a bit more space as this flat is getting a little small the more junk we seem to hoard!

I'll try and keep this updated throughout the year and fit in a few more day out, lifestyle and outfit posts soon. I do have some exciting times ahead and next month is my birthday month too! So I'm hoping that I'll actually have some interesting stuff to post *fingers crossed*

Anyway, that is my super brief update as to what has happened over the past 7 months but keep your eyes peeled, I might even post again by the end of the month *shock horror*!
